Being a Friend of St Paul’s provides an opportunity to become part of a unique community where you can engage with us and fellow supporters of the Cathedral to enjoy our music, heritage, art and spiritual learning. Here is what some of our Friends say:
“There’s such a thriving life inside the Cathedral. I love the connection to that.” – Jean Reed
“It’s wonderful to have access to what feels like a hidden London.” – Yodia Lo
“As someone who works in the City, I love the capacity I now have to enjoy the solace at the Cathedral whenever I need it.” – Samuel Ennis
The Friends have a long history of supporting St Paul’s. During the Second World War, volunteers risked their lives to save the Cathedral from being bombed. Today, some of our Friends play a crucial voluntary role in welcoming visitors and being Cathedral guides.
Friends membership subscriptions provide a vital contribution towards the running of the Cathedral, including assisting with our world class music provision, the conservation of our historic fabric, and our schools and family learning programme.
Whether as a financial or practical supporter, the Friends play a crucial role in helping us to keep St Paul’s open for all. As the Reverend Canon Jonathan Brewster says,
“To become a Friend of St Paul’s is to participate in this extraordinary place, to take care of an historic masterpiece and to come alive to something greater than yourself.”
